Maxis Home Fibre: plans, bundling and what to check
Maxis sells home fibre over TM's access network plus its own mobile and 5G. What the plans look like, who the bundle suits, and the small print to check.
Maxis is a mobile-first operator that sells home fibre as part of a bundle strategy. If you already have Maxis postpaid lines, the arithmetic can be very good. If you do not, it is a straightforward fibre reseller with a brand premium.
What Maxis is good at
- Bundling. Combining home fibre with postpaid lines is where the real discount lives, and it is usually the cheapest way for a Maxis mobile customer to get fibre.
- Device and entertainment add-ons. Phone instalments at 0% and streaming bundles are convenient, though they raise the monthly total.
- WiFi hardware on higher tiers. The top tiers include WiFi 7-class routers, which matters if you have a 1 Gbps+ line and modern devices.
What the plans looked like when we checked
As of 18 October 2026, the Maxis broadband page advertised home fibre tiers from 100 Mbps to 2 Gbps, with the 100 Mbps tier shown at RM89/month for the first 24 months against a RM99 list price, and a WiFi 6 router included. Higher tiers advertised larger e-wallet credits and WiFi 7 routers.
Treat that as a snapshot, not a quotation: the numbers change with every campaign. Verify on Maxis' broadband page before deciding.
What to check before signing
- The after-promotion price. A "first 24 months" discount means month 25 costs more. Compare the true average over the contract.
- Upload speed on your chosen tier. Bundles rarely advertise upload; it is the number that decides call quality.
- Whether the router is included or rented, and what it is worth if you need to replace it.
- Bundle maths. Add your mobile lines and compare against keeping mobile where it is.
- Coverage at your unit, not your postcode.
Who should pick it
- Existing Maxis postpaid customers with two or more lines.
- Households that want a single bill for mobile, fibre and devices.
- Anyone in a building with good fibre access who wants a 1 Gbps+ tier with a modern router included.
Who should look elsewhere
- Households with no Maxis mobile lines, where a standalone fibre plan is usually cheaper.
- Heavy uploaders who need symmetrical speeds — check the upload figure first.
- Budget buyers, where entry-level plans from other providers often undercut on total cost.
If your wired speed is fine and the far rooms are still weak, the plan is not the problem: read where to put the router.
